One of the most popular treks in Nepal, the trip blends you in with the romance of being close to the highest mountain in the earth, Mount Everest. The journey starts from the tiny Lukla airport also known as the path gateway to Mount Everest, where you will encounter many Sherpa villages filled with the laughter of small children and the smiles of the Sherpas, forests of fir and high suspension bridges that pass along caravans of mule, yaks, Jopke (a yak-cow crossbreed animal) along the way. Next, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar, a center of bustling markets with traders from surrounding villages and with a strong Sherpa community. You will then come across Tyangboche that has a spectacular view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama dablam and Thamserku that will surround you. Climbing above the tree line to cross alpine pastures and glacier moraine, you will eventually reach Mt. Everest base camp, high on the khumbu glacier where colorful tent villages give a bizarre appearance to this desolate place surrounded by rock, snow and ice.
